Family Details: Yury lives with her parents, a brother and sister in Colombia, where an estimated 6,500 child soldiers are fighting in urban militias and other armed forces. At home her duties include helping in the kitchen and doing odd jobs. Yury's father is sometimes able to earn a little money as a stone mason. His hard work brings in very little and he constantly struggles to meet the day to day needs of his family. Due to Yury's young age, she is not yet enrolled in school, however she does participate in educational programs at the Compassion Project. Playing with dolls and riding a bike are her favorite things to do. Yury also attends Bible class regularly. Dear Karena Family,My name is Eslendy Villalobos, I write you this letter since the child dosn't know to write because of her age, and now is starting her educative period.

Yury Yolersy Ortiz wants to tell you that she sends many hugs and regards, she wants to tell you tha on August 14th she turned 6 years old, and her parents gave her a bike party, and a delicious cake.

The child says she gets fun with her little brothers and she is studying in a very pretty school, and her favorite subject is arts because she draws, and colors. She is doing pre school and wants to ask you a question.
